A Sydney born woman has become the first Australian citizen killed by Hamas terrorists following Saturday’s attack in Israel.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong confirmed Galit Carbone had been killed in Be’eri kibbutz, scene of some of the worst atrocities.
Senator Wong said her department was providing consular assistance to her family.
“On behalf of the government, I wish to convey my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms Carbone,” Senator Wong said.
“Australia unequivocally condemns the attacks on Israel by Hamas. There is no excuse for the deliberate killing of innocent civilians.
